GP Manufacture - a quick visit in T2, where a "F40" comes to life

G'day,

i found these very interesting; yesterday one of the first production units of the "F40" limited edition Laureato EVO3 came to life.
This department is referred to as "T2" within GIRARD-PERREGAUX; it?s the part of the "moyen" manufacture where other than Haute Horlogerie pieces are assembled.

So here are some visual impressions of the "birth"; for more views on the other variant of the "F40", you might have a look at this earlier post:

A "F40" limited edition is born...

The first you need is - a skilled watchmaker As you see, a variety of screwdrivers, squeezers and pliers comes to play. In the background you can see the black timing device.

Setting of hands requires care; if not done properly, the hands will not align correctly. At the same time, the watchmaker has to make sure not to damage the hands and not to give too much pressure to them, otherwise the pinions will suffer. So it?s more demanding as it may look like.

Another view.

All hands are set and working; the movement is now ready to receive the case, which is traditionally referred to as the "marriage" of a watch.

More in part #2!

Greetings from germany,

Peter
