Rolex

Green for the weekend.

I think I’ve shared this story before, but it’s no harm sharing for others that may not have heard me say it before.

I own the predecessor to this watch, the Kermit.  That was a watch I fell for when seeing it on the wrist of a woman that managed a business in HK of which I was a customer.  It was maybe just a few days or a week after they were first delivered.  And then the chase began.

Fast forward to the Hulk being released.  I wanted it for certain.  And I almost bought one early on, but just before handing over my card I changed my mind.  Later I thought.

Fast forward another few years and I got as far as having the bracelet sized and my card handed over.  Sold? Nope.  My AD showed me something else in passing and my mind changed immediately.  The Hulk went back into the display case (which is where all the Rolex used to be, aside from steel Daytonas), and another watch came home with me.

Finally, in late 2016, I said enough is enough it’s time to buy the Hulk.  Called the AD and they had one, and agreed to put it in the safe for a few months for me.  They also arranged to have the case back engraved before I picked it up, which I did in early 2017.

Very happy to finally have it.  In hindsight the timing of my third attempt to buy it was fortunate as not long after the Hulk and most other Rolex became a little more difficult and sometimes impossible to buy.

So that’s the story of my Hulk.
