Horological Meandering

Heavy metal

Hi All

Recently acquired the new Seiko SDBC53 in blue, which is a great watch. After ten days - running 5 seconds fast, which ain't bad in my books smile

Though one other thing I've noticed - it is a bit of a brute - just shy of 43mm & probably biggest watch I have. The really noticeable thing is its heft and this is with a rubber strap.

After realising this thought I'd put the kitchen scales to a different use and grabbed a few random watches.

The beast - all 124g of it

SARG011 90g

Urushi 84g

Seiko 5 - last of four Seikos & the lightest at 62g

Emas diver next at 59g - surprising as it's pretty much all plastic!

Oris alarm next at 43g - though it is rather a bit smaller!

Nomos Tangent weighs in at 38g

And finally from left field is my Swatch Skin Yellow Jelly  a mighty 12g!

And yes I know that one's cheating as its a plastic Quartz, but just wanted to run the through the range of weights. The last one weighs a 12th of the first.

So do you have a liking for heavyweights or lightweights? What's you biggest badest bruiser or you featherweight watch.

Cheers
