Help! I've been paralysed by the indecision bug...
I'm considering swapping a couple of nice but rarely used watches in my collection for a Lange 1 moonphase PT. Only problem is that I've seen an Fp Journe Chronometre a Resonance in RG at roughly same money.
Disregarding the economics of it, for the life of me I can't decide which one would best pass the test of time esthetic all would ultimately be the best to get. I know that the FPJ has a very unique movement while the Lange 1 is more common and also less impressive (?) in terms of innovation. Only downside with the FPJ is the dial, which afraid will get boring over time (too symmetrical?).
Any comments/thoughts welcomed with great appreciation...

As they both are really different in my opinion. I think that you need to ask yourself, what am I trying to get out of my new watch? Is it technical innovation I'm after? Then yes, the FP Journe is more technically impressive overall IMHO, although the al...

For taking the time to send me such an elaborate reply:-) Really appreciate your input and would agree with your general view that the Lange 1 is more subtle (in part because of the PT vs RG) of the two. In a way I guess my support for the FPJ is that it ...

While I own a duometre chrono, the lunaire is a different beast. You haveto want the combo of the foudryant on a moon watch. I prefer this on a chrono it is a large watch as compared to the FPJ and Lange. I Have no experience with your GP. But Journe and ...

Hi Joe, Thanks to you as well for taking the time to send me your thoughts and reflections. The models I'm looking at are both older versions, i.e. for the Lange 1 it's the model with the moon phase inside the seconds sub-dial and for the FPJ it's the sym...

:) I think the most important question that you need to ask yourself is, "Do technical details and innovations outweigh how a watch speaks to me?". When I see you mention your support for the FPJ is (partly) based on owning an important piece of history, ...

I have both watches in platinum.....older versions like the ones you're debating. They serve different needs for me. The Lange 1 is more of an every day watch. The fpj is unique - dial, movement etc. very convenient for travel and the dial is decidedly no...

Thanks vandyke, that's good advice as well but in the end I decided to wait... The guy with the FPJ is struggling a bit to sell and the ALS had some nasty dents next to the crown which I'm not convinced could be repaired, So, I sold the two watches and de...
