I have been trying to buy my husband a watch, and I have run into the same frustrations many of you know in trying to buy your wives and GFs a watch. He is very particular as to appearance, with no thought to maker or what is inside.
He wants a relatively inexpensive (his constraint, not mine - he won't wear a "fancy" watch and i can't lie if he asks me the price) three register chrono with constrasting (panda or reverse panda) subdials. Year of manufacture unimportant, but his taste is more 1969 than 1949 or 2009. Hand wind okay.
He has given thumbs up to a picture of a blue dialed no date Speedy pro special edition with blue bezel. I have seen a similar one for sale without blue bezel . The current Legend or Broad Arrow do not appeal to him.
If I can't find an Omega, his rather stringent price conditions lead me toward Breitling or perhaps a bargain on an older or vintage El Primero. I know El Primeros pretty well, have no knowledge about Breitlings.
Suggestions??
Thanks guys,
Ginger
