I am the Deployment Destroyer :(

Hi everyone, this is a bit of a bittersweet post for me but I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help.

First, the good part - The Panograph has been a bit of a dream for me ever since I laid eyes on it as an impoverished student. Last week, I decided to do myself a favour and I'm now the happy (but still impoverished) owner of a steel Panograph. The information I've gained here in the days before my purchase has only made the choice clearer; that apart from being a really handsome watch, the Panograph is a seriously marvellous work of engineering! Thanks a lot guys!

Here's where it goes downhill...in a span of less than 5 days, I have managed to de-commision two deployments (or deployants... what's the correct term anyway?) - the first, within less than 12 hours of my purchase and the second, today after 2 days of wear.

Now I'm not sure if it's happened with anyone else but on both these occasions, it was the little sprung pin next to the strap hinge (The one that gets pushed in by the release mechanism) that decided to pop out.

It's disheartening to say the least and I love this watch so much that I am half considering using some sticky tape to hold the loose parts together so that I can wear my wonderful watch tomorrow (If this is successful, I'll post pics and instructions in case any of you meet the same fate as me)

While I don't mean to be rude or trash anyone, the design of the deployment release mechanism really doesn't do this watch justice and is, well, to put it bluntly, asking to be busted open through simple, reasonable use. The nice people who sold me the watch have been very generous to help replace them but I think it's safe to assume that this won't be a weekly privilege, at the rate I'm getting rid of these things.

yes, I know... if I wanted a tough watch, I should have bought a G-shock or something but really, I was just wondering if this was a common problem or simply because I have the dexterity of your average walrus.
