IGOTT-2 is has just entered the realm of memories, but here are some pictures from "Chopard Day" to keep the memories fresh.
The venue...

behind the veils of flowers....

the owners of this place have hidden the real reason they have built it.

The luxury surroundings are, however, not unfit for other uses, such as meetings of horological friends.

Purists, the famous cats, of herding cats fame.

Off in buses for a morning of go-carting sponsored by Chopard.

Of course two of the cats didn't fit in the buses and had to take this meagerly means of transportation. We felt very sorry for them after hearing the deafening noise it also made.

Helmets on, getting ready to go for the first heat.

Last discussions between the drivers and their managers...

and off we go.

As the morning got longer...

the laps got faster...

and faster until time has all but obscured.

We needed an afternoon of
respite and haute horology with Mr. Karl Friedrich Scheufele of Chopard
to get us back down to earth and ready for the evening dinner, held at
the Ferrari dealership at the hotel.
Unfortunately, whoever decided on the table placing showed no prescience in placing me next to this guy. Next to his carrier as a watchmaker is also a professional go-cart driver and stole my hard earned top position in the final race. (in service of full disclosure: I had never sat in a go-cart before).
You can hardly see him but way far in the back of the picture Mr. Scheufele is welcoming us.

There were other distractions, however.

The meal:

I would like to thank Mr. Scheufele and the Chopard team as well as my fellow Purists for a great day which allowed us to not only get to know Chopard better, but also each other in a fun activity.
