Antiquorum and Christies organized two auctions, this week...
The results for Jaeger-Lecoultre are more than interesting.
The modern watches were sold above the estimations, like, for example, the Master Perpetual Calendar in SS, or the Gyro I ( which reached 342 000 CHF, instead of the estimated 320 000 ).
But this is not the only good point...
The Vintage Wrist Watches took the same direction.
Some examples:
A Gold Memovox, estimated at 5500 CHF, has been sold ... 6600 CHF:
The Polaris 68, not in exceptional condition, which was estimated between 12 and 17 K CHF, has gone for ... 20 400 CHF.
The Master Mariner Deep Sea was sold for much more than the estimation, too ( 6841 CHF )...
Please note that, curiously, it has been presented with a box which is not correct for the watch.
The most surprising results came from the Table Clocks, and clocks...
One example: A nice table clock from Cartier, which was estimated maybe too high, was sold a bit under, at an unexpected ( good ) price: 3120 CHF!
A lot of other table clocks, Ados, and clocks were sold much above the estimation, and sometimes twice more....
What do we have to think?
End of the crisis?
Renewed madness for JLC products?
One thing is certain, these are excellent news for " La Grande Maison "!
Best,
