Dear all,
After several attempts, here is finally my first post (I have to get familiarized with the interface…
I just wanted to show you some pictures of the IWC novelties presented at Hall of Time in Brussels Friday night. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to take pictures of the event but I hope the watches pics will be sufficient.
PORTUGUESE YACHT CLUB
The new Portuguese Yacht Club is the sportier version of the well-known chronograph. Thanks to its nice dial and its big case, IWC was able to keep the elegant design that made the reputation of the Portuguese collection.
The red gold version is gorgeous and the light is playing nicely on its two tone slate dial.
PORTUGUESE PERPETUAL CALENDAR
Another novelty is the Perpetual Calendar with blue dial. The diameter of the case is enhanced to 44mm which is a big improvement: the general balance of the watch is better and its profile seems to be thinner.
GRANDE COMPLICATION
You can get the Grande Complication in the Portuguese case since this year. This version wasn’t there and was replaced by the « classical version ». It’s the first time I had the opportunity to see that watch and it made me a really good impression. The minute repeater is playing nicely even if not so loud. I tried to make a video of it but I need to read more carefully my camera handbook…
DA VINCI DIGITAL PERPETUAL CALENDAR
Not a novelty as well but the instantaneous jump of the digital display is a great complication. See the date and month going from February 28th to March 1st in a second without showing intermediary 29, 30 and 31 is really impressive.
TOURBILLONS – MYSTERE RETROGARDE & HAND WOUND
This year, IWC came with two new Tourbillons.
My favorite is the new hand-wound. Quite thin and elegant this watch is really stunning. Icing on the cake : thanks to the fact that it’s a « see through » tourbillon (see last picture) you have a great view on the escapment and the cage. It surely explains why one of these was sold during that night…
Hope you enjoyed,
