It's a rainy Saturday morning and I'd like to try another Recliner Review. This means I sit in my chair, cup of tea at my right hand, iPad in my left, watch on arm - and share all the details I can without getting up.
Today's watch is a black, quartz-powered, ultra-light & ultra-thin, IWC Porsche Design day, date, month watch with day/night indicator.
It's an ultra-minimalist watch in some ways. There are no minute or hour markers or numerals, just numbers for the days of the month, and a pair of perpendicular lines that cross in the center and terminate in tiny luminous dots at their extremities (the 6 o'clock dot is the d/n indicator).
The watch is adjusted using the crown and three pushers. It's not really minimalist - in fact it's complicated to set, so I will have to refer you to my article on the Care & Feeding of a Watch Collection, Part 6.

(I think this is fair; I haven't left the chair)
The strap and buckle are very slick, light, thin, comfortable and mysterious.
PD Logo on the outside
Swiss Made on the inside. Locking button on the inner wrist side.
PD specified a unique rubber compound; strap is cut to fit then retained by 3 tiny screws at either end. If the strap gets wrecked or cut too short, I guess it would be impossible to replace since this is a 1980's watch (anyone know a source?)
The back is very simple - a serial number and holes for the removal tool. Not PVD coated, either.
The thin and light characteristics of the watch are partially a result of its size. I'm estimating about 33-34mm by 8-9mm thick. It seems tiny in some ways, but that is offset by the comfort and lightness. Just the ticket when you have a wound or sunburn that makes wearing a larger watch an irritation!
Well, the rain is picking up, my tea is cold, my stomach says breakfast! and the watch's features are exhausted. Thanks for reading,
Cazalea
Sorry, the selfie shot was driven by the fact that my sore wrist doesn't bend enough for the iPad front camera.
