Dear All, Which one do you think is more desirable? White gold with black dial has a bigger contrast and easily catches your eyes. But platinum with grey dial looks more sublimed. Please tell me your thought. Thank you Henry

if the WG would have the date discs in black, that would be my choice. As you also know, Lange in PT comes with a hefty premium. Haven’t seen them in real life but although I like the color of PT more based on pictures tend to go for the WG. Cheers, Dirk ...
Totally agree that if the big date disc is in black, with white font, the choice will much easier and will be definitely WG. Regarding the PT, the premium difference is actually not huge, around 8k USD after discount from AD. Another issue is limited edit...
Presumably that's what you mean... Saxonia WG w/ big date, e.g. Perhaps the design of the WG L1 moonphase was already decided by the time matching date discs were released on other recent black dial models.
I find that the white date discs are quite distracting on the black dial, as the eye is drawn to them, and the rest of the dial suffers a bit in comparison. Another issue is that, with the black dial, there is not a whole lot of contrast with the moonphas...
Understandably one has to choose ... I would go for platinum. Platinum looks more "discrete", dapper than the WG model. From the general desirability point of view the WG might be better, but still platinum for me.
I am slightly inclined to PT one, due to my preference on the metal. Grey colour dial is one of my favourite. Though I agree that the black dial does give a good contrast to the blue day-night disc. Cost is also another advantage for the WG one.
manufacturers offer different metals and different dials, but often don’t offer them in the combination of YOUR choice. You know...you...the buyer...the guy who keeps their lights on? I understand not allowing a special dial material (enamel, for instance...
would ruin the whole Lange look on the WG model in my view. It is perfect as it is. Of the two I would opt for the Platinum. Not a big fan of black dial dress watches.
