The Lange Datograph and the Glashutte Original Panograph are two watches that I have very strong feelings for. I would greatly appreciate some honest feedback regarding the two watches I have put up for your critique.
I should hope that the responses will be honest, both intellectually as well as from the heart. It is my hope that by posting on the Lange forum that it is not overrun by Lange owners feeling the need to be proprietary about their brand, for I love it as much as you.
First let me state that I am a huge Lange fan and a very proud owner of the Lange 1 in PG, as well as a proud owner of the GO PanoGraph in RG. I have of late given very serious considerations to the acquisition of the Datograph or the Langematik Perpetual in Platinum.
My questions is with the Datograph (a remarkable timepiece) sharing the same functions as the Panograph, it is imperative then to look to their souls, the movement. They both share the column wheel, the 3/4 plate, swan neck regulator, exact jumping miniute hand on the 30 minute register, gold chatons, the anglage, hand engraved bridges, etc. When comparing fit and finish with a loop there is so much similarity just as there is with the Lange 1 caliber 901 to the GO caliber 65 in the PanoReserve.
I would love to hear from owners of either and preferably both. I welcome your objective insights that perhaps I may be to close to see.
In general if unable to be persuaded that the datograph is so superior than perhaps I would be better with the Platinum Perpetual.
I look forward to an intelligent and meaningful exchange of ideas, facts and feelings.
I thank you all in advance for your time and efforts.
Sincerely,
