I just receive the email from Longines regarding the one I recently acquired.
Here is the email: If I am reading this correctly, this is a civilian version, and an early version. My original estimation of 1935 is correct! I should have taken the bet on the year 1935 ...

The military connection mystery seems to have been solved according to this letter from Longines.
Longines confirmed the watch is/was indeed a pilot watch for the Czech Army. It has no engraving on the caseback, and no "Anti-Magnetique" on the dial. Has anyone else seen this variant from 1935? Very curious. Thanks! ...
