My VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur Anniversary Edition

 

I work in a building with lotsa of Pateks and Langes and APs "walking" around, wearing this VC makes me feel like the underdog!!

i love the weight of the watch, the elegance of the design, though the dial can be a bit busy for a 38.5mm watch. i love that its a regulatuer, whilst not the most practical, its not the most frivolous as well. two time zone, second time zone displayed on 9o'clock sub dial by a 24hour hand, adjusted via a button at 11o'clock. date and second displayed by 6o'clock sub counter, date adjusted by pin hole @ 4o'clock. i generally do not like dials featuring roman AND arabic numerals, but VC pulled this one off. also love the swordblade hands. and i am a big fan of the crown with the Malte cross and the Malte series lugs.

its COSC certified, featuring VC Cal 1206 RDT auto movement with 28800vph. if i am not wrong, it is based on a Piguet ebauche 1150. power reserve is 65 hours.

being the anniversary edition, mine features a hunter caseback, and a unique grey dial. i have a soft spot for gray dials, but IMHO, patek slate grey ala 5056P is still the one to beat.

That was a watch I was seriously considering to buy some 10 years before, because of its regulator dial! Well, I changed my mind, but each time I see one, and especially this VC, it reminds me good moments and good feelings. I agree with you on the grey d...

And this watch just seems so appropriate, post lehmans....it doesn't cause a "rich axxhole wearing patek" revulsion or "young upstart wearing panerai" disrespect!!!! After spending sometime in the vault, it was rehabilitated in early 2009 and had been in ...

But it is one of those beauties which are parked into a nice SdT briefcase which again is in the bank vault. I still like the watch but I can read only the time from the dial even I got new reading glasses. My version is YG and the reason why I bought is ...

I had it for few years now, and it still bring a smile to my face. It did spent some time in the vault as well, but was "rehabilitated" in 2009, and have been in the regular lineup since.

I really like the gray dial and RG combination. The combination of a second time zone with the regulateur dial layout seems unusual to me, but perhaps there are other examples of this...? I am a big fan of regulateurs -- still looking for the perfect one.... 

I bought the anniversary edition precisely becoz of the RG/grey dial combo

And the more interesting hunter case back. I could decide to inscribe some personal message on the case back also. I think it's a matter of convenience for the 11oclock pusher versus pinhole fr date change, and not a technical issue, but I could be wrong....

its one of those watches where there is longevity in design and impressio, esp with this colour combo. Next week, or after, will take pics and short write up on Malte Chrono. Thanks fr sharing

I am somewhat stuned that you feel like an underdog wearing a regulator VC, as opposed to wearing a Patek or a Lange. I actually find it to be a sign of distinction. I like the watch a lot. Best regards, George

I think VC holds itself up high versus the Langes n PPs, but somehow, in my building at least...they are far n few in between, and there are A LOT of PPs n Langes. Thus the comment about feeling like the underdog.

But it was love at second "sight", went into cold storage, but was "reloved" post Lehmans when I wanted something politically correct to wear to office and see customers, that doesn't scream "PATEK ON WRIST"!!! And something that still reflects a certain ...
