New arrival unveiling!

I've never done an unveiling post, but I like to read them, so here goes.

This watch has been a long time in the making, first because it marks an 8-year personal accomplishment, and second because it was created by the Richard and Maria Habring in collaboration with my hair-brained ideas over the course of the last several (5?) months. I couldn't be happier with the end result--it far exceeds my expectations in every way, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with the Habrings. While I prefer not to own more than one watch from a particular manufacture, the warmth and wonderful work done by Maria and Richard is very likely to lead to my next watch also being a Habring².

Enough of that, let's bring on the pictures--my apologies for their quality. My camera is acting up, and several were taken before the plastic was removed from the crystals. I'll include two pictures from Maria & Richard at the end to atone.

Watch details: Habring² Time Only 2004, 6498-C movement, 42mm case, open dial with custom skeleton work by Stefan Kudoke, blue outer dial, rose gold hands, markers and hour wheel, and custom engraving on ratchet wheel done by the Habrings.

Cheers,
Daniel

Cleared customs in TN yesterday:

Always good to use the WH. Ingenious suspended packaging:

Oregon pine box:

Complimentary blue micro-fiber strap (Thanks!), replacement parts (hands, crown, gaskets) and a strap changing tool:

First look!

Closer view (forgot about the plastic on the crystal):

I think the blue will look great too:

A window to the mechanical movement's soul:

The blue dial and gorgeous decoration on the mainplate are very difficult to capture:

Special commemorative engraving on the ratchet wheel--filled in with blue enamel (for philosophy):

I have now doubled my collection of Independent Watches:

Similar size but very different designs--the Habring² and the MIH watch:

Impossible to capture on the wrist--the blue changes color with the light:

And two final pictures from RIchard & Maria--these show the incredible finishing (clearly given a hand-touch, look at the rounded and polished edges on the plates). The second one also shows the rhodium-plated pallet bridge, which really was essential to the design.

Thanks for "watching"!

Cheers,
Daniel
