New Grand Seikos
Here are two new models, announced this week, but NOT at Basel, and NOT via press release as in the old days. I guess with GS becoming its own brand we have to re-knock on the door and ask for the info.
Anyway, enough whining, here are the two two-tone GS models SBGH252 & SBGH254:
As you probably know, two-tone is not a new theme for Seiko. I mean, Grand Seiko. There are some two-tone GS models already but they tend not to be the ones we (in the West) rave about.
This cosmetic treatment is lavished on Hi-Beat, 72-hr movements. The white dial is textured, whereas the mocha dial is radially brushed.

I also like the white grainy dial.
To be honest, however, I not sure whether two tone style really suits GS or not.
If you're into two tone, then it's great!
Personally not my taste. If you do like this metal combination though, you get the 44GS case style, hi-beat movement and very clean dial. I think it's a good option. Did they do anything interesting with the movement or at least the rotor? Changed bi best...
