but I still don't get why they created this seal. When I think about Patek I think about very nice finished watch which beats COSC standards easily . I think about craftmenship. I think about passion , I think about patents, I think about history, I think about a lot of things .... and I don't need a seal for that.
If 'Patek Philippe' is written on the dial I expect only the best. I mean, I don't need a Bentley seal on the Bentley car or a Namiki seal on a Namiki pen.
When I see names like Namiki , Bentley, Patek, I already know I will get the highest quality.
So imo people who know Patek already know they will get a top notch watch, those who don't know Patek won't be convinced with an extra seal.
EXCEPT this seal is given by a third, independent party. Take for example the Michelin stars for restaurants. Even if I would know nothing about food it's easy to find a very good restaurant. Open the Michelin guide, pick a 1-2-3 * restaurant and without knowing the specific restaurant you know the quality will be very good. But that is only because all the resaturants were judged / compared with the same measures. So this means something
So you don't have to convince me, I know what Patek stands for but for a non WIS I don't think this seal has any surplus value
