Horological Meandering

ONLYWATCH Preview in Tokyo

You probably have or will see the better photos of these unique pieces, and please keep in mind that the lighting and the display setting (not allowed to take any out of the display case, and many of them are wrapped by plastic...) were most challenging.  I thought I should post only the good ones, but then again, I thought there must be some who don't and won't have the book catalog (well, the online catalog must have better pics, I am sure!) and won't have chance to see them in person anyway.

Those who have or will see them, please skip to the last.  Those who are interested in seeing the actual pics (despite the quality of them), please start from here:

1. Audemars Piguet: VERY "Jule Audemars"

2. Bell & Ross - "BR01 Casino": "0" on the outer disk shows the hours, the small roulette ball on the middle disk shows the minutes, and the central roulette turns at the rhythm of the seconds.....

3. Blancpain : couldn't even see the beautifully engraved back.

4. Bernhard Lederer "Gagarin Platinum Flying Tourbillon": should have taken from more angles, but couldn't get from any other angles.

5. Bovet - "Amadeo Convertible 7-Day Tourbillon Dragon & Phoenix": sorry for the bad photo the plastic wrapping got in the way.

6. Breguet - "Grande Complication": really wanted to hear it sing!

7. Celsius X VI II - mobile phone.... : and this cannot be even used in Japan as a cell phone....oookay...

8. Chanel - "J12 Marine"

21. Hermes - "Arceau Le Temps Suspendu"

22. Hublot - "Oceanographic 4000 - First in Series": looks really cool in person.

25. Laurent Ferrier - "Galet Micro-Rotor Prototype - No.1": love the guilloche pattern on the dial.

26. Louis Vuitton - "Tambour Diving II Chronograph"

27. Maurice Lacroix - "Masterpiece Roue Carree Seconde": I wish I could take the better pic of this, but this looks nice in person.

28. MB&F - Horological Machine No. 4 Thunderbolt "Flying Panda": again, would have liked with better lighting....but the panda was cute...

29. Montblanc - "Collection Villeret 1858, Vintage Pulsographe": "Grand Feu" enamel dial is very nice with just two colors.

30. Patek Philippe, Ref. 3939 - Stainless Steel, Enamel dial: REALLY wanted to hear this to sing in SS case, but sealed and untouchable - the guard was always there.

31. Piaget - "Altiplano Skeleton": I wish I could have taken better pic of this, too.  I HATE plastic!

32. Richard Mille - "RM027 - the very watch worn by Rafael Nadal":  The strap seems very comfy for tennis.

35. Ulysse Nardin - "Freak Diavolo"

36. Urwerk - "UR-103 Phoenix"

37. Vacheron Constantin - "Metiers d'Art Perspectives d'Art Dove": very, very beautiful champleve enamel.  See the one dove full of diamond?

38. Van Cleef & Arpels - "Poetic Complication - From the Earth to the Moon": this, too, is very, very nicely done champleve enamel.  Simply beautiful.

39. Vulcain - "Skeleton Cricket": sorry for the bad photo, but this one has beautiful engraving done on both side.  Would love to see the back...

40. Zenith - "Captain Chronograph" and "Pilot Chronograph": both for lefty.

Addendum....

1. Wow, hello brother.... worn by the guests.

2. the "touchable" 3939 worn by a guest.

That's it!  Sorry for a lengthy post.  Hope you forgive the bad photos and enjoy at least some of them.

I talked with Mr. Julien Scharer, Managing Director of Antiquorum (Switzerland) for a while.  He was very excited that so many brands decided to contribute to the cause - for Research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  Of course, he hopes more join next time.  He said that he was looking forward to the auction and hope many people bid and win to own the unique pieces to help the critical research on this disease.

Best,
Ken
