I recently purchased a PAM88 from Ebay that looked and sounded completely legit. Here are a few things that look and sound odd to me. The warranty card is not stamped / imprinted with an AD name like the two other Panerai I own. It is only printed in black letters. The seller did not have the cardboard outer box. The reason they said was the watch is from the overseas market not a US destined watch. The few things that make me think it is legit are. The crown locking arm has the wheel where it should be. It is a K model and has the quick change strap feature. The clasp has the new style Panerai lettering (smooth not imprinted) on the back side of the clasp where the strap hole pins are. All the tags and stickers look correct to the other Panerai I have. I am completely confused and worried this could be a counterfeit. I have heard the latest fakes are hard for even the experts to discover. I have been told to buy the seller and the seller has been extremely helpful and reassuring. He has even said I should take the watch to my local AD for verification. I am taking the watch to the local dealer today but from what I have read even the local AD's can't always determine a Panerai to be real or fake. Thanks for your help with this matter.
