no cardboard box here either
I have a PAM 88 and my dealer did not keep the outer cardboard boxes until just this last year. I've have my 88 for 2 years.

When I asked my AD about the brown cardboard box he said he does not keep them
and that happened with two different ADs (Munich, Barcelona) for my 3 watches. I only have the black ones.

...to go get the cardboard box back from the trash! So yeah, I guess throwing away of the box is more the norm than exception. But any Richemont service center should be able to authenticate your Panerai for a small fee.
