Patek and (Wempe / Tiffany pieces)
I know this subject has been discussed in the past; but I wanted to share some of my opinions and see what other colleagues think.
I am personally not in favor of Tiffany (or for that matter, any other end retailer) putting their logo on the watch dial. I find it equivalent to car dealer putting their names on license plate frames
)) I feel this hold true for most regular production pieces.
On the other hand, there have been especially designed pieces / dials for some very special / favored retailers (pp 5125 Wempe edition, and pp 5150 Tiffany edition come to mind); which in my opinion are truly special, and probably rightfully so end up commanding a premium for the special association, provenance, rarity, limited production, and (tongue in cheek) appreciating in value.
Would love to hear what others think. Thanks
