In his comment to my thread dedicated to the Patek Philippe/Somazzi partnership , our dear Gordon aka GLau asked me how many retailers were able to have their signature on some Patek Philippe watches . Here's my answer : A / I have identified 58 retailers

I also believe 35mm would be the perfect size

There is actually a number of options for Calatravas in 35mm size... and only you can decide according to your personal choice. For example you mention you don't want something "too old". I would recommend don't take something "dated" which is not quite t

Anticipating a future encounter

If all goes according to plan, I should be able to see the Patek Philippe ref. 5101P in person for the first time next month . This prospect excites me because this reference, with its hidden tourbillon , seems fascinating . The photo below gives me a tin

Congrats on a wonderful trio!

I also have a soft spot for that case style with the crown guards. Actually, I've owned a 5110G in the past, and currently a 5130G (which is an absolute keeper in my collection). And sometimes I search for the 5125, which tempts me a lot, but the price is

I'm a big fan of these beautiful crown guard cases

Which resulted in this trio of 37 mm crown guard treasures as part of my collection The case design makes the watch look a bit sportier and gives it a bit more presence 5127G / 5125R / 5110P

5125R - A wish for 22 Years 😀

When the watch was released in 2003 to celebrate Wempe's 125th anniversary, I was absolutely thrilled. Unfortunately, there were two problems. I was too poor, and I was married 😉 So I missed this chance. I have no idea why it ultimately took so long for m

I am delighted to see to many reactions to this interesting topic

I am also a big fan of these crown guards and I can't mention all the references that I love in your list as there are too many 5107 and 5127 are probably the most simple ones in your list but they have always been in my fav list. 5125R and 5110P are defi

Loved reading your thoughts on the subject matter

And thank you Jerome for bringing to my attention the ref. 5125. I almost forgot about that one! Agree on the Ref. 5960 being a great piece to add to the collection. My preference is for the platinum variant, as I move the leaf hands. Best Gatsby

So.......I guess in summary

Majority of the responses show that our forum collectors prefer the annual calendar coupled with some other complication, such as the chronograph function (i.e. ref. 5960) or a regulator (i.e. ref. 5235). There are also quite a few people who have pointed

5125 or 5960G

Interesting question! As a modern one, would go for the 5960G. Interesting mix of complications in a form factor that is between sporty and casual. If I can go vintage, would go for the 5125 - positively quirky with its crown crown, moderate size. The log
