Patek Philippe 570G.... some fresh views
I have been collecting vintage Calatravas for the last 3 years now. I am at a point where I am very happy with the collection I have put together. It is very hard for me now to express a favourite as it is between this 570G and my 3417......it speaks volumes that I compare these two in the same breath. The shape of the case here...its crisp and defined lines.
Yes...it was a long wait to get this on my wrist.
But very much worth the wait.
I just adore the case..... so clean and sharp
beautiful contrast with the brushed gold
and teh added spice of the sigma dial....

Actually....so different in so many ways.
Hands. Case depth. Case shape. Function. I had seen these watches as quite different beasts.......but in reality it is more than I had expected. 570 would be a lovely watch to wear any time... but it would handle black tie easily. 3417 is not so easy to t...

Vintage, and vintage Pateks in particular is the way to go
Modern watches are simply too big, too overt, too expensive. At least Patek is offering a fair amount of 37 mm and even smaller pieces. Some dial pictures of your 570 and 3517 would be greatly appreciated! Best Moritz
Joe, it was a pity I never got to see this one in the flesh but I can see your "wearing dilemma" This one I think wins the good looking category!
Now as I go on my own existential collecting crisis, I must learn not to buy any more pieces but do as you have done- limit the number and collect wisely. Congrats again on your stunning collection Julian
