Photos coming, but...
...just wanted to reflect on my great good fortune this past week in Switzerland. The roster of meetings and meals with independents alone (not counting many fantastic sessions with major manufacturers) -- meeting any one of these folks would be the highlight of a full year:
Saturday -- dinner with Kari Voutilainen
Sunday -- dinner with Max Busser
Monday -- an hour-long discussion and presentation of novelties with Stephen Forsey; dinner with Philippe Dufour (and with pplater, who should share almost equal billing!)
Tuesday -- morning meetings with DeBethune and with Charris at the MAD Gallery (I should also mention here the evening presentation and dinner with Lange, the most "independent-like" major in my view, including great interactions with creator horologers Tony and Tino)
Wednesday -- Lunch and an atelier visit with Peter Speake-Marin
Thursday -- morning at Kari's atelier, where we also met Raul and his turtle automaton; pre-dinner drinks with Bertrand from VH; dinner with John McGonigle
Friday -- Morning with David Candaux, his family, and team (marvelous!); afternoon visit to the Laurent Ferrier atelier and a pre-dinner meeting with Romain Gauthier
I'm stunned just writing down the list! Best part was sharing this with my 6 watch buddies from NorCal and many other PuristS friends from around the world.
More coming when I get a chance to sort through photos...and apologies for any omissions (if you can believe that any might exist) from the above list!

.. and meeting a few new friends! Judging by your list of friend visits I have high expectations of the photos to come! Very exciting! Are you planning to add any creation by those new friends to your collection? :)
I am always planning to add something...
...but lack of funds often gets in the way! And then there's the small matter of getting on the "list" for some of these makers... Best, Gary

Next year we must put an evening in also.... We met a lot of the same people but just on different days! I hope John was back in form after rather late finish on Wednesday noght... It rather washed out my Thursday appointments at SIHH! Looking forward to ...

I asked Allen to say hi to you if he saw you on Saturday -- we would have tried to join the group on Wednesday night but given short notice it was impossible to change our plans. Only good news is that we had dinner at Viollet in Crissier on Wednesday -- ...
