Given the fact that Lange has now equipped the Datograph also with the Power Reserve indicator, is it not the right time for Lange to include this feature in the Datograph Perpetual. With its low power reserve of 36 hours and the fact that the very essence of the Perpetual Calendar is for it to keep running continuously, the presence of a power reserve indicator would be a great help for ensuring its timely-winding.
But the challenge would be in the display of the power reserve. The Date window occupies the upper slot ( which in the case of Double Split accomodates the power reserve). The lower half contains the moonphase ( and that slot is occupied by the power reserve indicator in the case of the new Datograph). Perhaps some form of a siimple disc that changes color or something at the back of the movement would be perfect.
Another change that could be useful could be the replacement of the tachymeter scale with a Pulsometer which has better every-day practical use ( after a daily cardio fitness workout on a treadmill !!).
