Punch In, Punch Out

Moderator MichaelR had to go visit Michael McM, DDS this morning so couldn’t go on a walk.

And when the good dentist was finished, your Moderator was too fuzzy in the head to do any work.
Unluckily I started working on tax paperwork and discovered watches aren’t deductible as an expense.
Then I started a thread with Filip and that led to this - the re-discovery of My Seiko Time Clock, which IS a valid business expense, though perhaps I would need more employees than just myself to justify a "punch clock” line item on my expense report.

Younger visitors to our site may not have had the experience of having to “punch in” and "punch out” at work each day. I’d be interested to hear your punching experiences, if any. Please reply this thread.

Oh yes, here’s the device itself:

Astonishingly, it remembered the day, date and time from years ago when I last had it plugged in! Some internal memory that keeps track despite power outages, I suppose.

It’s a breeze to set if you have the book, a whiskey or two, and an hour alone without interruption! And tiny fingers or a DIP switch tool.

The ribbon was dry but with some alcohol and black paint I was able to get a punch-in on my time-card. I love it when I can get old things to work again. NOTE: Amazon has the ribbon for only $5.99

Number plate may provide clues to its age. My guess is 70s-80s.   The manual says 1994 is the first date that can be set - from 1994 to 2089

Thanks for reading and please share any punching stories you may have.
