Putting on a Non-Running Rolex

When I take out my DateJust or Submariner out to wear, more often than not they are not running since they have been sitting for a couple of week or so.  I typically wind them 45 turns of the crown, screw the crown down securely and be on my way.  Is 45 times too many, not enough or just right??  I know they have a winding clutch to prevent over winding and have heard that a person can wind a Rolex until their "fingers bleed" and no damage will be done.  Am I OK with the 45 turns of the crown?  I have a desk job so my wrist does not get tons of movement during the day, at least not the kind that keeps a rotor in motion all day.
