Ref. 14802 Jumbo Royal Oak Jubilee

I've had my Royal Oak Ref. 14802 Jubilee Anniversary watch for around a month. It has exceeded my expectations.

The watch was issued in 1992 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the iconic Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta.

I am not usually wed to watches for life, but in my greatest estimation, this is a keeper.

I'll let the pictures do the talking and sum up my opinion of the watch below.



The color and shades of the dial vary greatly dependent upon the light and angle at which one views the watch. Sometimes charcoal gray, sometimes a lighter shade of gray and sometimes black.



The watch fits well on my wrist, although I still need to remove another link or so to make the fit just right.

All in all, just an amazing watch. IMHO, less is more and this Jubilee RO is certainly one of my new favorite watches of all time!

My quest to find the right jumbo was fun. I had my heart set on an A Series, but there just weren't any I could find in satisfactory condition. I was going to compromise and apt for a mint C Series with box and papers. The only issue there was it was a two-tone stainless and gold model. Many of you tried to talk me out of purchasing the two-tone and I am glad I listened. However, I count myself among the minority who would consider purchasing the two-tone. If one came along in the right condition and at the right price, I would probably go for it.

I was wondering if I would grow tired of or complacent with the watch. Although it has only been a month, I must say that this special watch is an exception. Definitely a holy grail in my collection and I truly believe it will stay that way. Finally a watch I believe I will hold on to long enough to leave to one of my kids.
