Rolex Explorer II, how do you like it? Milky or Creamy?
16550 / 16570:
Forget the Collector thing, just let your heart speak.
The creamy dial is extraoridinary, in terms of subtlle nuances.
Now the milky dial is not bad, either. The lacquer Roelx used gives a feeling of depth which is also remarkable.

the creamy, I find that it's very delicate as nuance, less immediate rather the white one, I would say that is a dial you don't look at the time in a while, but you have to "read" the hours dedicating a moment more than the high contrast "black and white"...

Naaah, it is the blend of styles, the anachronsim which disturbs me. The big orange 24 hours hand of the 1655, the thick font of the 16550, and the dial borrowed to the 16570. Best, Nicolas

.. although, as mentioned above this "depth/3D" impression is an asset for all white/ milky. Thus, I might call it a tie, with my personal bias to Creamy.. Best, hs ;)

The collector thing does have an influence as the cream is far less available and at a strong premium. So the solution is to love the one you can find then dress it up with a nice leather strap and enjoy the white dial. But the cream will always be the cr...

because of the WG rings and hands, basically. the cream is a premium, naturally. chris
