Singapore recap
As promised, here some impressions of my first visit to Singapore - as I understand it, one of the spiritual homes of PuristSPro
With the number of watch shops and watch afficionados, that is hardly surprising.
Starting with the trusty steed taking me there. While long haul civil aviation cannot be said to have progressed in leaps and bounds since the introduction of the 747, the A380 is usefully more comfortable and primarily a lot quieter - something to be appreciated on such long flights.
One sees the close connection between Singapore and France right at the airport

I have to say their rendering of the Eiffel Tower is no finer than mine
Arriving in the late afternoon meant a meal still had to be consumed, in this case I listened to our Singapore members and tried some Dim Sum at Crystal Jade.

Now to the city proper. I guess the dominant skyline feature will remain the same for some years to come...
At the same time one of the other main sights seemed to be under repair. A glimpse of the 'Durian' - here of the nicely smelling variety
I guess as a tourist (the first time around) one should give the establishment below a call.
A friendly gentleman trying to keep the tourists away from the main lobby
Apparently the thing to do; I can only hope I was not played a practical joke on here...

And the other thing to do (here I am more certain of not having been taken for a ride)

Time for strolling towards dinner.
Getting closer, walking past the best paid parlamentarians in the world - reputedly also the least corruptible ones (seems logical).

Finally dinner has arrived. The restaurant got renamed from Coup D'Etat to Ce La Vi (their spelling, not mine). I guess one pays for the view but the food was certainly decent, too.
Picture of the restaurant, taken from a tree - and no, I did not go bonkers and started climbing trees.

One takes the elevator up and enjoys a cocktail in the crown...
Some more night shots.
From the DNA Bridge.
And a further relaxation after the taxing walk.

Checking out the traffic.

Many hours to the Sun Rising but interesting beer - never had that one before.
And just because the food is truly good in Singapore, some more
Christmas is coming - somehow the tree feels odd when the outside temperature is close to 30
Once again, been a wonderful time, also had a great evening with Robin (he already did a post on that) - and I can attest to the legendary friendliness and hospitality of our Singapore members.

Also got to see more watches in a couple of days than I do in months otherwise.

Well worth a visit!
