Here, I will focus on two which are pretty popular, as they housed the Diving watches from this era.
To be clear, they are correct for all the Diving watches from Lecoultre and Jaeger Lecoultre AFTER the Deep Sea Alarm, such as the Polaris I and II, the Master Mariner Deep Sea, the Shark, and the Dolphin ( not sure, actually, for this last one... ).
In fact, there were two green boxes, each one being very different. One for the signed Jaeger-LeCoultre, the other for the LeCoultre watches, hence the reason of this post, to avoid any confusion for those who are in the search of the correct box for their precious time keeper.
1/ The outer boxes:
Both are made of carton, but, as you can see, they are different in size, shape and color.
On the left, the LeCoultre, and on the right, the Jaeger-LeCoultre:
2/ The boxes:
The shape, the volumes and the colors are very different.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre is flatter, darker, and more rectangular than the LeCoultre:
So goes the inside of the boxes, BUT with a funny common point:
" The most exceptional watches and clocks in all the world "
So, if you find a Vintage Diver from " La Grande Maison " which comes with its box, or if you are on the hunt for its box, check that it matches with the signature on the dial.
Best,
Nicolas.
