So I tried on the Octo Finissimo ultra-thin automatic...
Just on a whim, passing by a Bulgari boutique, popped in and asked if they had the new titanium ultra-thin. Didn't expect I would like it much but I was a bit curious, and I thought Mrs E, who was in tow, wouldn't mind - she can look at the other stuff in the store (dangerous..).

Well hot diggity! They only had it on strap, not bracelet (and I'm a bracelet guy), but it is pretty darned fetching and it fit my wrist quite nicely. Mrs E didn't even look at the jewellery (phew!).

It's a shame the balance isn't free-sprung, and while the movement finishing isn't amazing I appreciate there's only so much you can do on an ultra-thin.
What are the forum's opinions on strap vs bracelet for this one?
More prosaically, I know a few people here think the list price is a bit high - any thoughts on this? (by PM only, of course!)
Best
E.

This fits perfectly

I initially thought 42 was going to be too big, but like you, I loved the way it hugged the wrist and the weight is non existent. The bracelet is also well made and sits well. Trying it on does not help the will to reduct watches
Thanks Richard

Afraid you're right...this one is not leading me down the path of having fewer watches! Actually, who knows. It's a bit of a "go anywhere, do anything" watch, at least for someone with my lifestyle - which is to say, no need for a watch that can go 2000m ...
Not sure Richard

whether the watch is 40 or 41 but definitely not 42. Hodinkee's review states that it is 40 while the Bulgari sales person told me yesterday that it is a 41. I tried it on and loved it!! Its weightlessness is a big plus for me
I'm falling in love too

It does have just about everything (although as I say, a free-sprung balance would have been the icing on the cake). Retail on bracelet is HKD 105,500; on strap, HKD 97,500. From what I gather from the sales associates these are in limited supply - they j...
So you went for it?

Looks good! Think I would definitely get it on the bracelet - and as you say, the bracelet doesn't come at an unreasonable premium. The lightness of the automatic is quite remarkable. I tried the hand-wound version in platinum and the shine from that meta...
Glad to hear it!

Well, I went to see my pusher last night and it looks like I'm in luck with my timing and supply of this somewhat rare piece, so in the spirit of striking while the iron is hot, it seems there will be a new beauty on my wrist very soon. 😄 Best E.
