Spotted two Daimlers less ordinary recently...

Austria is not known for automotive excesses generally and seeing cars less ordinary is reasonably rare. So I was surprised when I saw two in one day, both Daimler related.

Starting with this...

As Maybach never officially produced a 57 Coupe, I checked it out. It seems it is a product of Vienna based DC Dream Cars, who took over production from now defunct Xenatec. Supposedly both have / had the blessings of Daimler for the cars. Rare, too - from what I read 8 Xenatecs have been produced as well as two DC ones.

Now if you're more interested in the byways than the highways, this could just be the car. Never seen wheels so big on a G before. Stability through curves must be delightful, I guess Still one of the nicest sounding V8s in the business

I cannot imagine the cost of the Maybach Coupe transformation... knowing that you already paid a huge amount of money to buy a "normal" one ;-)

Or thereabouts. 1.000km on the ODO and black. The white is supposedly €1M. If you want your own it takes about 3 months, no idea about the price range...

I know it's almost heresy but it looks just like a Mercedes Benz to me I'm not knocking Mercedes-Benz; we had three-in-a-row before. Very nice cars with and without Kompressor engines. Clever cabin designs that smell good and with smart electronics. Loved...

That\'s why I think that Maybach never took off quite in the same way as RR under BMW. RR is quite more frequent here than Maybach, too. Although mostly with Russian plates
