Horological Meandering

The essence of daily watch.

 

Here are some shot of my most faithful companion when I am away from home. I hear many people claiming that the perfect daily watch (or daily beater) is the Rolex Datejust or Air King. However this Swatch from the early 90s equipped with the ETA 2480, is really a piece that you can bring wherever whitout being worried. For me it represents pure functionality but it has also a very nice design with a semi skeletonized dial. Through it can be seen the balance. I find the dial really funky with the addition of blue and rose touches. The accuracy is not top notch, from the moment that it have never seen a watchmaker since it came out from the factory but I adjust it about each two days so it goes quite well.

Yes... the movement is really simple and minimalistic but I love stare at the caseback nonetheless. Nothing fancy or super complicated but it is very enjoyable in the wild.

Think they're really elegant. I have a diaphane which is great, if a little chunky. Always thought these were a very under the radar mechanical watch. There's lots of different variations out there too. Another one to add to the wish list! Cheers JML

Yes it is elegant but I also funky because off the dial and I was thinking to put a blue strap instead of the brown one. They are underrated but there are enthusiasts, who appreciate them a lot and I feel that in some years some models could become a litt...
