The Grande Reverso 976 has become my go-to watch for dress up days.

You may recall my purchase dilemma about a year ago when I decided against the Navy Seals Automatic because I have too many dive watches and after I refused to take delivery of a Squadra watch due to slight mechanical defect. Eventually, I reverted to my original choice of the Grande Reverso 976 in black and it has not let me down.


I find myself wearing the watch increasingly often over the months, each time appreciating it more for the slimmer profile and the longer case, relative to my XGT-size Reverso. How I wish these two watches could trade dials!




The Reverso competed directly with my IWC Portugese for wrist time as they both share the same dial and strap color.




But as it is so elegant and proper in a more refined way, this Grande Reverso 976 has become my winner when wearing business attire.




And best of all is that it's good for other, more casual occasions still.



Don't tell anyone this but I went out to buy a new pair of sharper, black shoes just to match this new design of flushed strap! And next month I will receive a new pair of sleek black sunglasses to complement the set. Maybe I should send the bill for these to JLC. It's all their fault to have produced such an exquisite beauty
