THE Panerai
A few moments ago I posted a photo teaser of my latest addition to my Panerai collection..
A really important Panerai... Or some regard it as the most important Panerai...
As it is a symbol of Panerai's re-birth.. It is Panerai's first watch made for the civilian market...
The PreVendome Logo... (5218-201/A)
The case is 44mm polished stainless steel.. A little bit thinner compared to current vendome's 44mm Luminor
The crown guard is finished differently, it is brushed instead of polished
The dial is very simple black dial (it appears a little bit dark-brownish color in different lights)
"LUMINOR PANERAI" just under the "12" And the "OP" logo just above the "6"
The index and hands are of course "fat & recessed" tritium...
There are some very noticeable difference with vendome's 44mm Luminor :
1. As I mentioned above, the case is a little thinner
2. If I'm not mistaken the crown guard is a little smaller (please correct me if I'm wrong)
3. The dial is much closer to the crystal which makes it looks really good
4. The strap changing system, is a double-screw... I honestly haven't tried to change the strap yet... But I've heard it takes sometimes to get used to.. A very difficult system but really secure...
5. The winding feel is different... The movement beats slower compared to the movement used in the vendome models...
- I'm really no expert on movement.. So if anybody can explain me more about this, I would be really grateful...
On the wrist it is really comfortable.... We all know how comfortable Panerai watches are....
What I love about this is that this seems subtle... Subtle to people who doesn't know...
But to those who know... It really is special
The fat tritium index is really beautiful, especially under the sun...
The LOGO is really simple, yet have such a strong character...
A watch with lots of charisma...
In my humble opinion, THE Panerai to have.....
As this is the root of modern Panerai watches...
In my opinion, there certainly is no better thing for a risti than to own this PreVendome logo...
I really hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do...
I'm really happy to finally be able to own this...
Best,
Sam
