I've just discovered the pictures of the Richard Mille clock which is a gift from the brand and the Canton of Jura to the Province of Quebec. The purpose of this gift is to highlight the relations between the French-speaking countries.
It took 6 years to create this clock with the help of the technical college of Porrentruy and the Neuchâtel Haute Ecole Arc.
Its figures are truly impressive. Can you imagine that:
- the clock required 6,571 hours of development
- it is made of 5,451 components
- it required 3,952 hours of assembly and adjustment?
The clock measures 3,5m x 3,5m x 1,3m with a weight of 1,913kg!
It features two faces: one is dedicated to the hours & minutes display, the other to the seconds, minutes, hours and a PC.
Please note that the clock is on display at Porrentruy from 7th of March to the 3rd of
May 2014 before being installed in the Jardins de l’Hôtel de Ville
in Quebec. So if you visit Porrentruy, don't miss this opportunity!
