The things that bind.
As has so often been said, an old watch with a new strap is like a new watch. The wide variety of straps, bracelets and bands out there never ceases to amaze – as was most evident in the photograph posted by a moderator below featuring a UN on a strap bordered with miniature sail rope – fantastic!
May I timidly suggest, therefore, that those who have an interesting…binding…post a photo for others to see? My humble offering (if it has successfully attached to this post) was made in order to turn a basic Panerai into something more of a sports watch. A little shop in Paris (whose name I suppose must go unmentioned) matched the stitching and edge wax to the pale green colour of the numerals. It may be out of period (think of the rally watches of the late 60’s early 70’s) but it takes me back to my youth and has breathed a bit of life back into an otherwise sadly neglected old friend. Apologies for the poor quality of the photo.
