This watch is probably one of the most "under-rated" watches in my opinion ......
1) design(!)
2) craftsmanship: look just at the bracelet: each link not pressed steel but hand polished and cut and (almost) no link the same as the next: Hey: look at the dial more closely .... !
3) the movement: the IWC 8541 ES "Pellaton". I wear this watch a full week and it deviates probably 2-3 seconds after a week
4) They produced 542 pieces. That's it. It was not a limited edition. It was a massive commercial failure. Too big, too bulky, too expensive. Back then.....

Couldn’t agree more with all of your points!!
IWC seems to have been ignoring the Ingenier line in recent years. The above example would make a great reissue.

I hope they keep it modest in size, but larger than the 34 of the original. 39-40 mm would be great for me.

I have been wearing my 3227 03 Ingenieur. I love it with the TI bracelet and In house movement. Goes great with my 2004 Wrangler X…A classic keeper imo.
