Vacheron Constantin

This watch will never cease to amaze me

I was in Geneva last week for a day and after my meeting had some time to spare and headed for the Maison Vacheron Constantin, located in the historical building of the brand in the heart of Geneva, to admire some of the pieces presented in their museum.

Among the fabulous vintage collection were a few modern pieces including this amazing Tour de L?Ile. I had forgotten how impressive it was and the amount of detail and subtilities of the dial.

It has 16 complications in a 47mm case ! This watch is made in 7 pieces, one of which was sold during the VC Quarter Millenium Antiquorum auction for CHF 1,876,250 making it the most expensive modern wrist watch ever sold at auction!

Some of its features are: minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, equation of time, time of sunsire and sunset (which is adapted to the buyers location) as well as a sky chart of the northern hemisphere (can me modified to the Southern hemisphere on demand)
