To beef or not to beef - a tartare meal

 

Apologies for my recently ever more frequent absences but work has been unseasonably intense, add to that some family issues and the illness relay one partakes in when small children are around and the best laid plans amount to nothing. Still a month to go before holidays, so hardly home free yet but at least managed a decent meal today, which was a start...


Asparagus season is slowly petering out and transitioning into the porcini mushroom season over here. While tartare is always in season as far as I am concerned wink

So a quick meal, starting with some scallop tartare with truffles and asparagus essence...




Very subtle and a great combination. Followed by a tartare proper - my staple at this particular restaurant. As good as ever and adding a touch of harissa into the seasoning today was a great idea. 




Finished off with a non-tartare dessert - an apple sorbet with calvados. 




Life is immediately more palatable somehow wink
