Trying to learn more about my new watch
Hi everyone,
I just recently picked this Mille Miglia up and I'm trying to learn more about its history. I can't seem to find much information online regarding these watches and their variations, so I turn to you scholars for assistance.
As far as my limited research has gotten, I believe it's from the year 2000 - denoted by the number 2000 on the 3 o'clock subdial. I also believe it's the first certified chronometer of the series (I could be wrong). What I'm a little confused about is the case back: there's a number on the sapphire crystal that is absent in other Ref. 8407 that I've seen. Is this a limited edition? Or just a numbered edition?
Thank you for reading and any insights into my newly purchased watch would be greatly appreciated
P.S. Would be cool to see if there's a historical timeline of the Mille Miglia watches over the years. If anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd also be appreciated.
Happy to contribute!
