However, it bothers me beyond belief when a watch with a seconds hands it’s set exactly. So idk what the workaround is.

This is ballistic nylon from crown & buckle.
It was very inexpensive and a great way to change the look for the watch. Here’s a photo with the rubber strap.

I spoke to folks at FPJ and confirm what you said above. The way to set the watch most accurately (to a second for me) is to stop the seconds hand by turning the crown counterclockwise.
