Tudor Monte Carlo 7159 end link fitting

In exploring this question I have discovered a little twist. The original idea was to explore the solid link bracelet 78360 and the best fitting link. The conclusion was the best fit is the 589 end link. But it is very hard to find.

So I thought I dig around a little and see what other links fit. Her is what I discovered along the way. I will diverge a little and go back to what was originally on the watch the 7836 folded bracelet.

The first picture a perfect fit. This is the 7836 with 382 end link.

The second picture not so good.

So what is the big revelation. Well they are the same end link. Because they can be fitted on various models they are sometimes compressed or expanded to fit. You can see this in the next two pictures.

They are the same link only modified to fit.

So back to the original question will a for example a 580 end link fit. Probably yes but only if the height is modified by a watch maker upon installation.

As far as end link for solid versus folded. You can see clearly from the picture below the opening is not the same.

So visually you can see the difference. Normally 5xx end links are designed for solid link bracelets such as the 78360. I have seen 380 end links with a bigger ending I am not sure if they have been modified or otherwise not genuine I am not sure. The 380B seem to have the larger opening to fit on both 78360 and 93150 both solid link.

So we know a 580 end link will fit the 78360 solid link bracelet and with a little work from a watchmaker in the height department make them fit a Tudor Monte Carlo 7159. However the ideal fit with a solid link bracelet upgrade seems to be the 589 found on other Tudor big blocks.

More questions than answers, well, that is Rolex for you.
