April 26, 2010 (New York, NY) — Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest continuous watchmaker, hosted a private watch collectors event on Wednesday April 15th with Wempe Jewelers to preview the Swiss Watchmaker's historical timepieces alongside their current collection counterparts. Hugues de Pins, President of Vacheron Constantin North America and Ruediger Albers, President of Wempe Jewelers, invited customers and watch connoisseurs to Le Bernardin, world renowned chef Eric Riperts' French-cuisine restaurant in New York City. The fifty guests were taken to the restaurants private room to view an exhibition from the historic watch brand, "A Journey Through Time".

While hors d'oeuvres and cocktails were passed, guests enjoyed live music from a Jazz trio while taking in Vacheron Constantin's historical display. Vitrines housed timepieces from the Vacheron Constantin museum in Geneva to accordingly pay homage to the distinguishable decades of the 20th century. Among the collections, Vacheron Constantin displayed the innovative American 1921, alongside the Historiques American 1921 reissued in 2008 and the recent winner of the "Watch of the Year" Prize for 2009.
Also on display were the recently launched Ultra-fine 1955" and "Ultra-fine 1968" residing beside the original ultra-flat wristwatch from 1961. Models adorned exquisite diamond ladies timepieces while presenting guests with trays of timepieces from the Patrimony line. The evening advanced with an exceptional dinner of hamachi tartare, lobster ravioli, halibut and chocolate tarte with Vacheron Constantin Maltese cross tuile.
