Not good, but have to love your reaction...
... to get a couple of photos !! If you haven't done so already you might try to drain out the water and put the lens in some dry (uncooked) rice to absorb as much moisture as possible... it works with mobile phones dropped in water... The Canon 50mm f/1....
Good Idea about the Rice, But, you might want to try Rice Krispies.
They have all water removed from the rice and dry better, IMHO.

Very good value and build quality way better than the "nifty fifty". Hope you're able to have that sorted out. Best, Echi
