Wondering about collectable value of 5140R in rich Chocolate & Rose
Hello Gents,
Been a quiet follower of this fine site for years. Timidly following and learning from your vast knowledge and experience. I anchor myself with these two PP’s of my collection.
Pretty clear consensus on where the 5110P stands.
But my question is on the collectable value of my 5140R in rich chocolate and rose gold. Wanted to walk away form the too conventional and somewhat ‘old looking’ white dial and black strap.

I am always amazed that the 5110P sells for as low of a price as it does considering how widely beloved it is.
Almost a bargain in the context of haute horology. The 5140 is gorgeous too.
A matter of taste?
Any opinion on how well the ‘colored’ perpetuals stand vs the traditional white/blacks. A simple matter of modern taste?

You are right. While 5110P is a consensual piece, 5140R might not be everybody’s taste. I for my part like it a lot. I’m also a huge fan of 5496P-014 with its honey brown dial. Best, Volker
