Glashütte Original

Wow!! I'd seen the PanoReserve in person...what a gorgeous movement...

With recent discussion on the (im)perfection of the PR's dial. I decided to visit a local GO dealer to have a look of their PRs (which I just declined recently)...

Having the real watch in hand, I was totally immersed in its movement... the decoration is so greater... the double swan regulators are extremely beautiful... I almost forgot the tiny irregularity that I found on the second sub-dial (yes, it does... but much less serious that I thought it would be)... I almost give them my hardly earned dollars to them and "beg" them to give me the watch in return...

After I saw the PR, I must say that I was over-reacted. I think it must be related to my recent experience on my JLC RGD... it just recalled my memory and touched my pain part... (if you are interested in our discussion on yet another (im)perfection on dial.... http://www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/thread?forumid=234648&messageid=1059228671 )

In order to prevent myself from jumping into another hot boiling water... I'd like to explore more before I made any decision... could you GO experts share the view/experience?

1. What is the average quality of the PR dial? How "best" can we get? Could other PR owners post some photos of the dial?

2. The PR I saw is a Pink Gold PR. I would say its dial scored more than 98. It had less irregularities than those posted recently. Is it ture that the dial on GO gold watch is treated differently than those on SS? Gavin, may I ask you whehter yours is SS or Gold PR?

3. How GO number their movements/watches? The one I saw has movment number 6xx while the case number is 2xx. Does it mean that it is the 6xx PR movement and the 2xx Pink Gold PR they ever made?

4. Why GO does not use German silver? Does Lange hold the patent to use it?

5. How PR compared with PanoLunamatic? BTW, does it out yet? What's the listed price difference?

6. How PR compared with Lange 1? Well... I think it must be discussed before extensively... Could someone point me there?

7. One of my friend is asking whether it is worth to get the entry level GO (i.e. the senator Big date without display back). Any comment? Or it is better to save more and get the real thing (i.e. Pano XX or 1845)

BTW, congratulations to all the GO owners... you are holding one of the fine watches that's available in the market. I hope I could join you guys soon. Cheers!!!
