Most of the black dial FPJ's I've seen have Platinum cases. Is there a gold case option as well, or are the rare black dial/gold FPJs that I've seen special editions like the BMOP?

Platinum Blk dial are strictly limited in number (1 or maybe 2 per year per FPJ Boutique)
per model. On the other hand, the blk dial RG cases are available exclusively to Journe Boutique, but are not limited in number. Brad, Douglas, correct me if I misspeak.
gold/black dials
FP Journe introduced end of last year the whole collection in red gold with black dials. Available in our boutiques exclusively. Regards, Pierre halimi lacharlotte General manager Montres Journe America.
