F.P. Journe

Many congratulations.

Look forward to seeing more of this one.

You mentioned you have been a long term Patek owner.  I’m interested to see how this one watch might influence your collecting going forward, more Patek, more Journe or does it lead you elsewhere.

I came to Journe originally when I was looking to “step up” my collection/collecting.  I had mostly been enjoying Rolex, Panerai, IWC, Omega etc.  At that time the natural evolution was towards Patek and I spent a lot of time over a couple of years thinking about and trying on various Patek.  But much of the collection was dated in terms of design, not contemporary and for me just felt “too old”.  And then I stumbled across Journe, the watches had a much younger and more contemporary feel and the more I researched the better the story seemed to be.  There was horological merit to the watches, a broad collection of models, a strong design language and then F.P.Journe himself, his attitude and his vision for the company was also a big attraction.  People often talk about finishing, and Journe being lacking a little there.  But for me, versus the Patek watches I had been considering Journe was at least as good if not better (I’d note, I’m not one overly focused on finishing).
